About

The ISIT 2026 Quantum Hackathon invites students, researchers, and practitioners to explore the intersection of quantum computing and information theory. Working in teams, participants will apply quantum algorithms to impactful problems in signal processing, communication, and learning — using quantum simulators, available quantum hardware, and state-of-the-art development frameworks.

The event is organized by the Student & Outreach Subcommittee of the IEEE Information Theory Society, held in conjunction with the 2026 IEEE International Symposium on Information Theory in Guangzhou, China.

Eligibility

Open to students, researchers, and practitioners worldwide. Each team must include at least two current students, and at least one member must be a registered IEEE Information Theory Society member for virtual participants. Individual registrants are warmly welcome — organizers will help match individuals into teams.
